We have gathered together the best information currently available for Mirrors Edge including , an article detailing all of it's main features, screenshots to show you exactly what Mirrors Edge looks like, cheats for Mirrors Edge and gameplay tips too.

Mirrors Edge is a Sony PlayStation 3 Action game, written by Ea Dice.

Guide to Mirrors Edge on the PlayStation 3

Mirrors Edge is a product of EA and DICE's team-up, which will deliver yet another action-filled adventure to the PlayStation 3. The high level of intensity in this game will be reinforced by the use of first-person perspective, therefore you can see all the action through the eyes of the main character. If you have played Mirrors Edge before, then you probably know what to expect and yet you are going to get more. If this is your first time into the world of Mirrors Edge, then hang on to your seat as you're in for a surprise.

Players of Mirrors Edge will be immersed as the game's main protagonist, Faith. She is a black-haired heroine, whose mission is to carry valuable information that the government wants. Therefore, they will try to use every means possible to capture you. It should be exciting to see a chase unfold on foot.

Let's focus our attention first on Faith as the main character in Mirrors Edge. One of the most appealing aspects about her character is that she is not equipped with superhuman abilities. However, if we were to examine her level of physical conditioning, we can say that she is above the average human capacity. As Faith is bound to encounter a lot of trouble from the folks trying to chase her, she will be forced into performing death-defying maneuvers such as jumping off stairs and rooftop to rooftop.

While she may not be superhuman, Faith's adrenaline can be activated. Hence, time is slowed down to enable her a burst of movement. As you see all action unfold through Faith's eyes, it enables you to experience the action first-hand and action in Mirrors Edge is as real as it can get. But you need to carefully calculate your maneuvers though as you could easily hurt yourself in the process. After all, jumping off from stairs or vertical walls isn't a simple thing to do. Therefore, skill and timing are two crucial aspects in Mirrors Edge. To time your jumps accurately, activating the adrenaline will enable you to handle jumping off huge gaps in buildings more effectively.

As soon as you start playing Mirrors Edge, you will have a brief tutorial. Then, the game's prologue titled “The Edge” will kick off and followed by the first chapter - “Flight”. True to its name, the first chapter of Mirrors Edge involves a lot of vertical movement. You will have to move from the rooftops of a building down the streets and into subway stations. In fact, in this chapter of Mirrors Edge, you'd also get to experience having to slide from the side off a building in a desperate attempt to escape enemy helicopters hovering in the skies.

Controls is another crucial factor to look into in Mirrors Edge, considering the large amount of jumping and athletic moves. For the PlayStation 3 version of Mirrors Edge, there are three types of motion control that will create three different actions. First, you can grab an enemy's gun by flicking the controller upwards when a red light flashes. When performing a big jump, you can roll instead of crashing by tilting the controller forward as you are about to hit the ground. Lastly, and equally important aspect of motion in Mirrors Edge, you have the ability to maintain your balance while crossing beams by tilting the controller left and right alternately.

Although Faith is highly skilled at cutting corners or jumping off stairs to easily evade those chasing her, Mirrors Edge can also make some good use with its cover system. Within the environments of Mirrors Edge, you will find several buildings or boxes that will serve as suitable cover against enemies trying to aim at you. The game is not equipped with a definite cover mechanics though, but several objects in the environment will effectively block off enemy fire. You just need to master how to get to them quickly and what angles to properly use in order to cover yourself.

One useful game mechanic present in Mirrors Edge is the use of momentum. Again, Faith is not equipped with superhuman abilities. However, you can optimize her skills with the momentum. For quite a few times in Mirrors Edge, you will notice that you fall short when jumping from one platform to another, despite of short distances. But if you fuel her with a running start, you will find that jumping from one platform to another can be done with relative ease. After starting off with a head of steam, she'd be able to carry that momentum with her other movements. Noticeably, she can leap through obstacles quickly and efficiently, by jumping off or sliding under.

To add spice into an already exciting gameplay system for Mirrors Edge, the time trial mode will definitely put Faith's skills to the test. While other parts of Mirrors Edge will give you as much time as you can to explore or complete missions, the time trial mode is a perfect way to increase the intensity level another notch. In order to save time off your mission, you'd have to figure out the optimal path to take, cut corners in the process, and time your jumps perfectly well.

From the upper right corner of the screen, you can see a clock running, which reflects your actual time. Then, exactly below your time is the time trial's best time. This should be enough to motivate you to increase the level of competition as you try to beat both the obstacles in the game and the current best time record.

You will know whether you are performing well in Mirrors Edge's time trial since it will be represented by the presence of stars. Three stars mean you are doing well. If not, then do not expect to get more than a star. Aside from self-gratification, you can take pride in your achievement in time trial mode as you can upload your performance's result in the leaderboards for other gamers to see.

Speaking of achievement, there are trophies and achievements waiting for players who succeeded in the game without shooting anyone. This is another reward waiting for you in Mirrors Edge, on top of the items, bags, scores, and alternate routes that you can get. Indeed, the story mode in Mirrors Edge is non-constricting as it allows you to take on alternate routes if you think it will take you to your destination a lot quicker. The fact that you do not have a single, definite path to take increases the replay value of Mirrors Edge.

DICE really did take advantage of the first-person perspective in Mirrors Edge to create a more in-your-face adventure. However, the use of vast landscape this time puts the game in a new premise that is bound to vividly recreate the experience of being chased and having to evade people. For its immense realism and unnerving action, Mirrors Edge makes a perfect addition to the PlayStation 3.
