Genji
Welcome to our Genji website.
The mysticism of ancient Japan lends itself naturally to video games with a mix of magic, monsters and myths. It is that sort of world that is the home of Genji: Days Of The Blade for the PlayStation 3, an action hack-and-slash.
Set 3 years after the events of the original game on the PlayStation 2, players take control of four characters, each with their own weaponry and skills- Yoshitune Minamoto, who wields twin swords; Benkei Musashibo, the extra-strong warrior monk with a giant war club; Lady Gozen Shizuka, with chained blades for attacking from a distance; and Lord Buson, the God Of War who has come to earth to help in the batle against the Heishi. For reasons known only to him he has chosen to take the form of Kagekiyo Taira, the former Heishi clan leader who was killed at the end of the first game.

Guide to Genji on the PlayStation 3
An epic tale of a warrior's honor is presented in Genji: Days of the Blade. Developed exclusively for Playstation 3, Genji: Days of the Blade is an action/adventure game that explores feudal Japan and the historical battles between the Genji and Heishi Clans. Based on the Playstation 2 game Genji: Dawn of the Samurai, Days of the Blade takes place three years after the last chapter of Genkuro Yoshitsune's life. With more than double the amount of gameplay, including more playable characters and diverse levels of fighting, Genji: Days of the Blade looks to deliver a true next generation experience on the Playstation 3.
Key features include stunning combat, featuring authentic swordplay action, motion captured by Japanese sword fighter Mitsuhiko Seike. Extensive battles rooted in history against massive hoards of warriors in a quest to defeat enemy warlords. Switch between the unique fighting styles of four playable characters to maximize their talents or launch team based combos for devastating results. Beautifully rendered environments and characters promise to deliver a next generation visual experience.
The main characters are Yoshitsune the samurai returning from the previous game, Genji: Dawn of the Samurai and Benkei the club weilding monk, Yoshitsune's old friend. Joined later by Shizuka, the priestess with a whiplike crescent ranged blade and Lord Buson, the speared staff weilding warrior. Each character has its own unique fighting style. Yoshitsune is the speedy sword master slashing his way through conflict. Benkei is more stout, smashing foes with his massive club. Shizuka's hooked blade has a wide ranged attack and Lord Buson's spinning staff presents a formidable attack and defense. All characters are linked by the fact that if one dies, then the party is over.
The story picks up shortly after the original Genji: Dawn of the Samurai. Yoshitsune must defend the Genji clan against it's rival, the Heishi clan. Even though the Heishi were soundly defeated the first time, they have found new powers. Able to transform into unholy demonic warriors, the Heishi have returned with a vengeance. It's up to Yoshitsune and Benkei to battle these fiendish legions, teaming up eventually with Shizuka and Lord Buson to make a devastating team.
Gameplay is made up of hack and slash battle sequences with boss fights and some puzzles thrown into the mix. Multiple weapons and attack power upgrades add variety to combat. Characters develop new moves with new weapons and meet stronger foes as they grow stronger themselves. The unique "kamui" power enables characters to quickly decimate entire groups of enemies or severely damage bosses if pulled off correctly.
Controls are fairly straightforward allowing for easy combos or quickly switching between characters and their weapons. Kamui powers are sustained by following proper button sequences as displayed on screen. Six axis contoller support allows for evasive dodging manuevers by tilting front, back or side to side.
Graphically Genji is stunningly beautiful with detailed environments and character models. The spectacular cutscenes help move the story along. Great special effects compliment the unique fighting styles and techniques of the four different playable characters. A solid soundtrack and effects add drama and flair to the action. Genji: Days of the Blade is well polished visually and a definite showcase of the powers of the PS3.
