Guide to Full Auto 2 on the PlayStation 3
When the original Full Auto came out in February 2006 it was an exclusive of the XBox 360. While decent the game did get some criticism for various shortcomings. Fast forward to the present and we now have the sequel to that game, Full Auto 2: Battlelines racing onto store shelves this December- only this time as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Sega and Pseudo Interactive have listened to said criticism and rebuilt the sequel to improve on the original.
Full Auto 2 is a car combat game that puts players behind the wheels of some high-speed vehicles outfitted with weaponry and armor and places them into a highly-destructible urban environment in a deadly race to the finish line. Players can strategically alter environments to open new paths, block opponents or even take them out of the game altogether with a well-timed missile hit.
The game has a number of features that are entirely new to the series. Players select from among 25 vehicles ranging from muscle cars and low riders to SUVs and industrial vehicles, each of which can be customized with over 20 different weapons along with various paint schemes and wheel styles to create your own look.
There is a more than 20 tracks to be had here- each will let players push the boundaries with detailed displays of destruction, physics and speed. One feature making its return from the original is Unwreck, allowing you to turn back time and have another shot at making that sharp turn, avoid obstacles or get out of the way of incoming enemy fire.
In the multi-path single player campaign players are attempting to take control of Stantuon City by conquering each of the six districts and taking control of opponent cars and weaponry. Multiplayer has 6 different modes to choose from including classic death matches to base assaults which incorporate both team play and every-man-for-himself competition. The multiplayer mayhem can also be taken online in matches of up to 8 players.
Overall this game is shaping up to be one of the more exciting racing-combat experiences to be had- as soon as we are able we will give a full review on this game.
