EA is ready to bring the most exciting season yet in the latest of the hit soccer series!

We have gathered together the best information currently available for FIFA 10 including , an article detailing all of it's main features, reviews written by readers just like you, screenshots to show you exactly what FIFA 10 looks like, cheats for FIFA 10 and gameplay tips too.

FIFA 10 is a Sony PlayStation 3 Soccer Sports game, written by EA Sports.

Guide to FIFA 10 on the PlayStation 3

FIFA 10 will attempt to pick up on the momentum that last year's installment has built up soon after it has finally usurped its closest rival after years of threatening to do so. Some of those who have attested loyalty to PES have now found a new allegiance in EA's own offering of this sport sim, but EA Canada apparently had a bunch of work to do such that FIFA 10 promises to hammer its rival down. As the current leading soccer sim franchise, FIFA 10 is looking to consolidate on that by showing fans exactly what has gotten the franchise into where it is now.

Last year's edition felt like what a true blue football gaming franchise should be like, especially in the perspective of a hardcore football fan. But if you thought that 09 had a flawless run, the developers of FIFA 10 carefully screened through last year's installment to identify areas where the former fell short on and hopes to address that aspect of it. And the more impressive part is that the developers have managed to make major leaps in this new installment. With such a huge legacy to live up to FIFA 10 had to provide what gamers come to expect as soon as picking up that PS3 controller. But refinement is the operative word on this game, the developers at EA Canada does not claim to reinvent the wheel for football gaming. They are aware that fiddling with the gameplay formula is not usually the best route to go and they just wanted to enhance the current experience that gamers are having and infuse more realism for a satisfying play.

One of the most noticeable changes upon entering into FIFA 10 is the refined interface. The menu is absolutely slicker and more responsive than usual, which is something that gamers of previous FIFA games will surely pay notice. Some relevant tweaks were incorporated into the interface, particularly with the options of moving the ball. This jives well with the much improved controls system in FIFA 20, which employs a 360-degree control option. Last year's release relied on diagonal movements that are a bit restrictive. The new game has been able to overcome it such that controlling the ball provides more ease than usual, feels more organic but is still trickier as it should be in a real life football setting.

Ball physics in FIFA 10 remains as excellent as years past but there are a few subtler revisions for this year that will help make this title a lot more accurate for those who envision a truly life-like football experience. Whether you are passing or attempting a shot, it reacts based on believable inertia such that it reacts realistically to all types of physical contact. For instance, the ball will bobble around when hit by another player on the knee, fly through air in a speedier manner, and will impact the way you control the ball according to the position the player is in upon receiving a pass. This revived ball physics in FIFA 10 does not, however, guarantee that a player gets over 90% accuracy in shooting the ball towards the goal.

Generally, the shots in FIFA 10 are a lot tougher to nail and outlandish ones prove to gain little to no success, but you can occasionally land a successful one if the circumstances favored your way. This helps to infuse the level of excitement among football fans, as with watching professional football leagues, because there are several possibilities to each shot. For more realism, the developers have also incorporated the player statistics or reputation into their ability to generate shots. But pressure might come into the picture, thus preventing a nearly sure shot while scoring position is a more technical feature to consider.

A nice combination to the improved ball physics would be the level of physicality during play in FIFA 10. Since the 07 version, the physicality aspect of the game has been prominent in the series. But for this year's installment, it plays a more significant role such that strong players can easily knock out a smaller one during play contention. This is due to the improvement in the physical system that reproduce player clashes, which have been revised by the developers to avoid the problems encountered during 09 edition from happening. This time out, FIFA 10 allow players more depth in their movements and larger vision of the field. More notable here is that two factors determine the result of physical plays: the speed or momentum of players and their body positions upon contact.

In connection with the more intense physicality in FIFA 10, the referee calls have been made more precise and sensible. The developers made sure that gamers will be able to explore with the physicality options in the game but never forgets to draw limits by prompting the referee to make calls during plays that have surpassed the rules. Handballs, back passes, and the like are mostly ignored but interventions that cause a dramatic impact on the progress of the offensive team usually prompts them to stop play.

The key revelation in FIFA 10 is Virtual Pro, which fans must not confuse with Be A Pro. However, there are some similarities with the latter such as starting off by designing or customizing your own player. This will then offer you the opportunity to add your own “Game Face” if you decided to upload yours onto EA's servers. But unlike Be A Pro, the customized player you made in Virtual Pro is not limited to a single mode but can be available in other campaigns, whether it be in offline mode, ranked matches online, or in the Pro Club. So, if you ever think about pitting your player in Exhibition Matches, you certainly can! This is every football fanatics dream made a reality as FIFA 10 gives you the opportunity to literally take a nobody and turn it into a stellar professional football player. This is truly an evident progression from the modes available in previous installments.

Another top pillars for FIFA 10 is the Manager Mode is finally being given attention to by EA, but they admit that they still have to do some more polish to truly bring in something really authentic to the table. What the developers are trying to achieve here is to not just replicate but deliver something more substantial than PES' very own Master League. With that said, the developers of FIFA 10 and the franchise as a whole are confident about its ability to crush its rival.

The Set-Piece Creator is another much-awaited feature in FIFA 10, which you can access via the back-button menu found in the Arena. Like Manager Mode, this one is still a work in progress though. Once you are there, you need to select from a wide array of pitch that is located near the opposing team's goal. You can use it to record elaborate routines or plays involving various runners. But of course, there are several possibilities of an upset to your plan, especially since you are not often awarded with a free kick as with the play you've designed. There are also several factors that could intervene with the Set-Piece Creator feature in FIFA 10, such as timing, and position of both offensive and defensive players. But despite of needing some more improvements, this feature is a testament to EA's commitment to player experimentation. You can also record the running of the plays for you to use later on as training guard. Since there are still more rooms left for improvement, EA has decided not to incorporate this feature into FIFA 10's multiplayer mode.

The promise up ahead for FIFA 10 is quite massive given the legacy of the franchise, therefore it was only fitting that a decent online play experience be offered to the gamers. As noted above, you can use the player you've created via Virtual Pro wherein you can expect a robust online playing experience. A nice improvement though is the ability to set 5 human players during Be A Pro matches that leaves the other players for AI defense.

As for the more technical aspects of FIFA 10, it is important to note right off the bat that there are no major visual upgrades done on the game from previous installments. But given the capacity of Sony's console, you can expect the game to still be looking handsome. More emphasis is given towards polishing small details such as off-the-ball movements and the incorporation of improved graphics with connection to the enhanced ball physics. One of the strongest points for FIFA 10 visually speaking would be the likeness of the player models, which prove convincing enough to feel as though you are watching the prestige leagues instead. To complement that, the game gets insightful and thankfully non-repetitive commentaries from the likes of Andy Gray and Martin Tyler.

FIFA 10 achieves realism in a height never before seen among other football sim franchises. And if history were any indication, this is one is going to topple previous expectations as EA has continually lived up to their promise of delivering something that almost always establishes new football gaming standard. Let's just wait and hope that this year's installment won't be any different.
